Josie is shy when first meeting people, usually producing a low growl or bark, she doesn’t charge, or show an aggressive move, but more like she is vocalizing her concern. If it is a women, Josie will start to initiate contact and slowly warm up. As for men, well it’s a bit more of a struggle and will take time to break the ice. She is not aggressive, just impartial to men, p[referring to stay away.

Josie gets along well with other dogs, will initiate playtime, she does feel her crate is her space and as such will warn other dogs away. Josie plays with toys and is a expert de-stuffer of toys, so be aware you will have white clouds populating the floor if she is left on her own. Josie rides very well in a car, either laying quietly in the back seat or staring out the window. She walks on a leash but will pull slightly. She has excellent recall and has been walked off leash and is always within range of her foster mom.

  1. Oh David, I am a little in love with Josie!
I suspect she is on the road to adoption but thought I would inquire.
I am on the prowl on all fronts to find my perfect aussie.
I really go from the photos and description of the pup and she is adorable.
If she isn’t yet on the road to her new home would you tell me what her energy level is like? Where did she come from?
Working on possible transportation. Perhaps meeting halfway etc.
    Thanks,
    Marla

  2. I’m asking because I’m still interested in her. And would love to know if I should ask to borrow my friends car and make the long trip north.

  3. Hello, I would love to adopt Josie and I am hoping she is still available. I recently lost my Aussie and best friend of 10 years to congestive heart failure. She was also a rescue pup and I would like to adopt another. Amazing dogs!

  4. We are volunteer based and it is a Holiday Weekend so it will take us a few days to complete your adoption application review. Happy Memorial Day and thank you for your interest in Josie.

  5. Just got word that our application has been accepted and we are very excited. Waiting word if Josie is ours or not. Thank you so much!
